Fall Color Scenic Float Tours

Bring your camera and join us on a relaxing float trip down the Scenic Upper Wenatchee River!

Here in the warm autumn sun, you'll experience the radiant colors of aspen, vine maple and cottonwood leaves shimmering on a background of pine trees and picturesque mountains. You'll see wildlife and hundreds of spawning salmon splashing in the shallows along sand and gravel bars and deep pools. Come with us as we drift serenely through a dramatic and seldom seen area of the Tumwater Botanical Reserve. We plan to run trips through October and November because this is an ideal time to float the upper section of the Wenatchee River.

This picturesque wilderness refuge offers spectacular scenery and crystal clear water. The tour is a comfortable and safe float trip (no whitewater) on the Upper Wenatchee River, which is located on the eastern slope of the Cascade Mountains near the frontier town of Plain, 15 miles upstream of the Bavarian Town of Leavenworth. This enchanting section of the river is perfect for photographic opportunities and is one of Washington’s best natural history experiences. Professional guides will do the rowing so you can photograph, look through binoculars or just relax and enjoy the scenery. We provide a hearty riverside lunch and warm campfire at a halfway point. At lunch we have plenty of time to explore animal tracks, listen to bird songs or just relax on a river island.
