Late Summer Rafting Adventures on The
The Tieton takes it’s name from an Indian word meaning “roaring water.” A 20-mile river expedition from Rimrock to the confluence with the Naches River will convince you that it is an appropriate name.
The scenery
on the Tieton has it’s own unique character. The plant life changes
dramatically as the river descends from approximately 2,650 feet at where we
launch our rafts. The valley becomes drier, and pine forests disappear, replaced
by sage and oak covered hills. Volcanic rock outcroppings and arid basin land
are seen as we end our journey near the town of Naches.
The rapids
are rated from class 2 to class 3. However, the first six miles are steep and
the water moves very fast. It’s an exciting way to start a trip. And then
it’s non-stop scenery and action for the rest of the day.
Our custom one-day
and overnight trips are guided and coached by
veteran professional guides who have paddled many trips down the Tieton. We
provide leadership and professional expertise that ensures your safety and
provides an unforgettable and rewarding experience.
We provide
a famous, gourmet/banquet style lunch near our halfway point. We also provide
all your river and safety gear which includes wetsuits and river shoes, helmet
and Type IV lifejacket, rain gear and warm fleece sweaters. Our high performance
inflatable rafts are state of the art 14’ self-bailing models. We provide all
shuttle transportation from our rendezvous site as well.

9:00am at Getaway Sports at Rimrock Retreat, more
commonly known as Trout Lodge.
