WENATCHEE RIVER

This section of the Wenatchee is one of the most popular commercially guided trips in the state of Washington.  Big waves and holes combine to make this pool drop type river one of the most exciting one day runs for kayakers and rafters alike.  Eastern Washington sunshine and a wide open valley make this an inviting river adventure for all types of outdoor enthusiasts.  From the Bavarian town of Leavenworth to Monitor at the mouth of the Columbia Basin, you'll float through one of the largest apple growing regions of the world.  We begin in lodge pole and ponderosa forest where rock outcroppings border Tumwater Canyon and give way to a broad valley with calm waters.  Drifting past Leavenworth the river picks up speed and power through "Hobo Gulch" and "Boulder Bend" rapids.  After calming down through the "Peshastin Flats", we cinch up and challenge one of the biggest and longest rapids of the day.  The infamous "Rock N Roll", a class III run is the first of seven more fun rapids on our way to our exclusive river island lunch stop.  You can relax and lounge as your personal guides prepare a banquet style feast.  After lunch there are more rapids and you'll ride the big roller coaster like waves in "Drunkard's Drop", "Snow-blind" and "Suffocater".  The Wenatchee River Trip is well known for it's all around fun in the sun and festive atmosphere.  Our take out and end of the river trip is at the town of Monitor 4 miles beyond Cashmere where the river flattens out as it continues on to the Columbia River.  We provide transportation back to your cars up in Leavenworth.
